Neil Klingshirn

Experience

Neil represents business owners and individuals in all employment matters, including discrimination, sexual harassment, non-competition and wrongful discharge suits. He is an active trial attorney and an experienced negotiator.

Neil graduated with Honors from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1986. He was an Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal and a Founding Trustee of the Student Funded Fellowship.

Neil graduated summa cum laude and with University Honors from Kent State University in 1983, where he holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Neil was elected Executive Director of the Undergraduate Student Senate (i.e, student body president) in 1982. Kent State University recognized Neil's leadership contributions that year by selecting him as the 1983 Outstanding Senior of the Year.

Community Service

Neil is actively involved in his legal, church and civic communities. Professionally, Neil is the past Chair of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) Labor and Employment Law Section, where he remains on the Board. Neil serves on the Midwest Labor Law Conference planning committee, is a member of the Board of the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association, and is a member of the Ohio Supreme Court Specialty Certification Committee for labor and employment law. He is the Chair of the Hudson, Ohio Personnel Advisory and Appeals Board (i.e., its Civil Service Commission). Earlier, Neil Co-Chaired the successful merger of Hudson Village and Hudson Township. He has also served on successful Hudson School levy campaigns.

At St. Mary's Church, Neil served as Vice Chair of the Finance Committee and C0-Chaired a multi-million dollar capital campaign for a new church. Neil served on the Construction committee, both as a member and as the attorney for St. Mary's.

Victories

The vast majority of employment claims are resolved through negotiation or settled before trial. The true test of an employment lawyer, however, is his or her ability to win in court. To that end, Neil has recovered substantial verdicts on behalf of individuals and has obtained numerous defense verdicts or dismissals for employers in Ohio's state and federal courts.
